On September 23, Kawartha Dairy locations across the City of Kawartha Lakes held their first-ever community event, “Suds for School Breakfast!”
The Kawartha Dairy Community Crew, made up of manufacturing and supervisor employees, washed cars at the Minden, Lindsay, and Bobcaygeon locations, as well as the Fenelon Falls Canadian Tire for $5 a car.
A total of $3,000 was raised from the car wash, which will be matched by Kawartha Dairy and donated to Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) breakfast programs to be distributed across the Board’s schools.
“Food security and children are part of our donation strategy. And this was the best of both worlds,” said Jessica Campbell, Kawartha Dairy compensation and communications coordinator. “Many of our employees and their children are encompassed in the TLDSB area and we all understand the importance of what these breakfast clubs can provide.”
